About the Journal

The name 'ARABIYYUN MUBIN is inspired by the Qur'anic expression bilisānin ʿarabiyyin mubīn (Qur'an 26:195), reflecting the journal's commitment to clear, rigorous, and accountable scholarship on the Arabic language and its intellectual and literary traditions.

Focus and Scope

'ARABIYYUN MUBIN welcomes manuscripts in the following areas:

  • Arabic language teaching: curriculum, methods, instructional media, assessment, educational technology, and responsible use of AI.
  • Arabic linguistics: naḥw, ṣarf, balāghah, phonology, semantics, pragmatics, discourse, corpus linguistics, and sociolinguistics.
  • Classical and modern Arabic literature, literary criticism, poetics, and textual studies.
  • The language of the Qur'an and Hadith when the primary contribution is linguistic, stylistic, semantic, rhetorical, or language-pedagogical.
  • Arabic–Indonesian and Arabic–English translation studies.
  • Policy, curriculum design, and development of Arabic language programs.

Manuscripts primarily concerned with Islamic law, theology, tafsir, or hadith interpretation rather than language analysis may be redirected to TA'SHIL. Manuscripts primarily focused on general Islamic education rather than Arabic language teaching may be redirected to YUZAKKIHIM.

Editorial Policies

Section Policies

All submissions must fall within the journal's focus and scope and comply with the Author Guidelines and the appropriate article template. Manuscripts must be original, academically accountable, not previously published, and not under consideration by another journal.

The editorial team conducts an initial screening for scope, manuscript structure, language suitability, technical formatting, research ethics, and similarity. Manuscripts may be returned before external review if they are outside the journal's scope, incomplete, technically unsuitable, or clearly below the journal's minimum scholarly standard.

Peer Review Process

Manuscripts that pass editorial screening are sent to at least two reviewers with relevant expertise using a double-blind peer review process. Reviewers assess the manuscript's originality, relevance, theoretical and methodological clarity, accuracy of Arabic data and sources, quality of analysis, engagement with recent scholarship, and suitability for publication.

Editorial decisions may be: accepted, minor revision, major revision, or rejected. When revision is requested, authors are normally expected to return the revised manuscript within two weeks unless another deadline is stated by the editor.

After acceptance, the manuscript proceeds to language editing, copyediting, layout, author proofing, and scheduling for publication. Authors should respond to editorial queries during language editing within five days.

Open Access Policy

'ARABIYYUN MUBIN provides immediate open access to its published content to support the widest possible dissemination of Arabic language, linguistics, and literature scholarship. Readers may access published articles without subscription charges.

Reuse of published content is governed by the journal's Creative Commons license and requires proper attribution and compliance with the applicable license terms.

  • Disclose conflicts of interest, funding, and material use of generative AI.
  • Obtain institutional permission and appropriate participant or parental consent for school-, madrasah-, pesantren-, or classroom-based research when required.
  • Protect participant confidentiality and cooperate with editorial corrections or retractions when serious errors or ethical issues are identified.

Plagiarism and Similarity Policy

All submitted manuscripts are subject to similarity screening. The journal's maximum working similarity threshold is 20%, with editorial judgment applied to quotations, references, recurring technical language, and properly attributed source material.

A numerical similarity score is not the sole measure of plagiarism. The journal may reject a manuscript for inappropriate paraphrasing, unattributed translation, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabricated references, or other misuse of sources even when the similarity score is below the threshold.

Article Submission Charges

'ARABIYYUN MUBIN does not charge an article submission fee or peer-review fee. Article submission charge: IDR 0.

Article Processing Charges (APCs)
